Angora Rabbits are beautiful, gentle animals, kept as pets in back gardens and smallholding's all over Britain. They are sheared 4 times a year, causing them no pain what so ever. The Angora Fibre Centre has been established since 1988 to enable Breeders who do not hand spin to have their yarn commercially spun.
The raw fleece ( the finest of all animal fibres ) is spun at a West Riding mill.
The yarn is so light in weight that less than half the amount of a traditional sheep's wool yarn is necessary for an adult garment. It is suitable for hand or machine knitting |
